Cowards and Hypocrites and Liars and Thieves

The newspaper was spinning as it moved towards me until it was right in my face and the headline read: The Cowards and Hypocrites Party soundly rejected by voters, Liars and Thieves Sweep! This was the newspaper headline I kept seeing in my head the day of Barak Obama’s election. I had taken a hike literally and figuratively, and a looped replay of the spinning headline accompanied me and the mocking birds along the trail.
After eight years of cowards and hypocrites it really wasn’t a surprise. The Republicans cannot be characterized as anything but cowards or hypocrites in my mind, or perhaps both. What do you call someone who says one thing and then does the opposite: a hypocrite, right? Either that or they were afraid to fight for limited government, which would make them cowards. Maybe its more complex. Maybe I should consider the former fast talking lobbyist ranks that make up the consultants who told everybody that the Republicans couldn’t win unless they were willing to: pander to Latinos, call abortion “reproductive rights,” use terms like “reach across the aisle”, oh yeah, don’t forget to mention “stop earmarks” etc. etc. etc. Yaddah, yaddah!
The whole time during the primary I kept thinking, “why would anyone vote for an old white male half-assed liberal when they could vote for a smart, good looking, young, smooth talking, authentic black one?” John McCain had his stellar service and sacrifice as a bona fide war hero going for him and the moron fence sitting big tent neocons who picked him. He had nothing else. When the economic crisis hit he proved himself to be the half-assed liberal. If it weren’t for Sarah Palin, he would have lost by fifteen points.
Hey, but what do I know? I’m just sitting here with a Bible in one hand and a gun in the other, trying to take away a woman’s right to murder her unborn child, griping about lawbreakers from other countries collapsing our vital services, and still upset that Washington and Wall Street are sodomizing each other on our nickel. You know, I’m on the DHS “Thought Police” list as a potential Domestic Terrorist.
Things have changed down on Pennsylvania Avenue. We now have Liars and Thieves running the joint. They have always been honest about their lies and really good at thievery, ever since the time of FDR. So I guess nothing has changed really, its just that we now have folks that are more competent at it. At least we now have the Perverts in Academia, the Pimps in the Media, the Sluts on Wall Street, and the Pirates in Washington all in agreement. Should be fun to watch Rome burn.
In Somalia, the Liars and Thieves are called Pirates. But are they? Just ask a Slut, a Pimp, a Pervert, or our Domestic Pirates if this is a proper characterization. Depending on who you ask, these guys stealing ships for ransom are: disenfranchised youths, simple businessmen, man-made disaster children, or my favorite, Somalian Coast Guard.
War is Peace, Ignorance is Strength, and Freedom is Slavery now that the Liars and Thieves are in charge.
God help us for the sake of those who love and respect you.
