The Senator’s Clothes

U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown

I was looking at this official picture of Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio)  and reading this article:

Senate Supporters of Obama’s $787-Billion Stimulus Insist It’s Working Despite Declining Economy, Rising Unemployment

The Senators clothes kept disappearing and he was naked. Then I remembered the story of the Emperor’s Clothes. For those who went to public school here is the plot summary from Wikipedia:

Plot summary

An emperor of a prosperous city who cares more about clothes than military pursuits or entertainment hires two swindlers who promise him the finest suit of clothes from the most beautiful cloth. This cloth, they tell him, is invisible to anyone who was either stupid or unfit for his position. The Emperor cannot see the (non-existent) cloth, but pretends that he can for fear of appearing stupid; his ministers do the same. When the swindlers report that the suit is finished, they dress him in mime. The Emperor then goes on a procession through the capital showing off his new “clothes”. During the course of the procession, a small child cries out, “But he has nothing on!” The crowd realizes the child is telling the truth. The Emperor, however, holds his head high and continues the procession.

I figure that since all the Liars in Washington can “stimulate ” demand by throwing our cash at their friends, that they should be able to get things going by, let’s see… what’s three or four months before November of next year… that would be, uh… July, sure that’s it, July 4th of 2010! Has a nice ring to it doesn’t it?

Later of course, the Thieves will have to deal with how to square the coming inevitable mega-inflation when Government Rationed Health Care and General Electric’s “Too Big to Fail” Cap and Trade kick in. But they won’t have to worry about that until 2011 and besides, George Bush should still be good for an excuse until then.

Maybe by the 4th next year the UAW will have had enough time as the new owners of General Government Motors to build a special solar powered smart car. They’ll have to reposition the wind propeller on its roof though if they want a convertible model. After all where is Senator Brown going to sit in the parade on the 4th next year if that damn prop is in the way.

Either way I will watch to see if he is wearing any clothes.
